Sunday August 30, 2009 Indianapolis, IN

Day 2 of 36
Indianapolis

I got up early - everyone was still asleep. I think they got full and worn out at Melting Pot last night. Had some quiet time until Lillian joined me about 8:20 am. We played for a while - she is an early riser!

Everyone else was up by 9 am. We looked at cruises for spring break but the times don't work good for Lauren's break or Tim. We looked at the Atlantis in Nassau too. We'll see what works out.

Leslie and Lincoln went to the Y to work out. The girls and I played. Lauren played the piano, then I played for her. We played on the swings, played basketball, hopscotch, jump roop and then they drew hearts on the driveway. We went to McAlisters for lunch (Lillian's favorite) and then to look at new bedroom furniture for Lillian for her birthday. We went to 4 furniture stores and picked out a set everyone liked - it was at the first store. It took forever for the clerk to finish the order with the discounts and 0% financing I negotiated. To top it all off, he called me when we got home to tell me he had made a mistake and they wanted $200 more - even after all of the contracts were signed! I don't think so. I told him to honor the contracts we signed or cancel the order. Needless to say, they honored the contract rather than losing a big sale. All of the pieces won't be available until mid to late September so they set it up for delivery then.

Lincoln fixed fried chicken for dinner and we ate at home on the deck. It was fallish out but felt good. Dinner was good. We talked a bit of politics (oh boy) during dinner.

It was a school night for the girls so they went to be a little after 8. We watched TV (HGTV) and then Design Star at 10. Then off to bed.

A fun day with the family. Tomorrow is the first day of school for Lillian.
